Being the newest employee is always daunting in any company, but the Cambridge Creative team made me feel at ease immediately. The office is a vibrant, friendly environment, where the serious work is often accompanied by laughter and radio music.

The day usually starts off with a collection of us congregating around the coffee machine and having a natter. Once the coffee has been poured, it is straight off to check our emails and creative briefs for the day. The office is a fast-paced environment, where the work goes out as fast as it comes in – it can be a struggle to keep up! If you were to stand in the middle of the office, you can see the whole team working together seamlessly, as each part of the brief is completed and then passed along to the next step of the process. Being tasked with creating new content for the social media and blogs gives me a fantastic opportunity to put my BA Fine Art degree (who would have thought it!) to good use. So, I have been spending time planning organic social media posts, creating/editing content and exercising my creative flow.

Already I’ve had the chance to go up to the NEC in Birmingham to represent Cambridge Creative at their stand at the recent Holiday Park & Resort Innovation Show, which was a blast to say the least! I spent the day accompanied by my trusty sidekick and Senior Graphic Designer, Dave! Together we ventured around the exhibition, interviewing a wide variety of companies ranging from textile specialists and innovative glamping manufacturers to cutting edge techy software companies! It was a big jump into the deep end for me but allowed me to fast-track gaining some in-depth understanding of the industry and the people in it. I spent a lot of the day on camera and talking to some very interesting people. The highlight of the event for me however was getting to use a Panasonic Lumix S1 camera with the new DJI Ronin gimbal (a professional stabilizer for those who aren’t film-making fanatics!). It really was an eye-opener and allowed me to experiment with different techniques and angles.

The whole experience since joining the company has been fantastic – the team are friendly, not to mention super talented, and have helped me immeasurably. I have learnt so much in my first month and now I’m just excited to learn more!
