Hey there! I’m Maisie, and I’m over the moon to share that I’ve successfully completed my Level 3 digital marketer apprenticeship with Cambridge Creative. This journey has been nothing short of a whirlwind, from dropping out of university to diving headfirst into the dynamic world of digital marketing. Join me as I reflect on the last 18 months.
Choosing the Right Path:
When I wrapped up my time in school, I initially took the conventional route and enrolled in university to pursue a degree in business and marketing. However, it didn’t take long for me to realise that the traditional learning style and lifestyle weren’t the right fit for me. Taking a leap of faith, I made the decision to drop out and set my sights on finding an apprenticeship. After a month of persistent applications, I landed my first full-time job and apprenticeship in January 2022—a nerve-wracking but exhilarating start to my journey.
A Jump into the Unknown:
Entering the realm of digital marketing, I went from knowing very little to taking responsibility for multiple jobs within a few months. From crafting engaging email campaigns to diving into photography and videography, setting up Facebook ads, writing blogs, creating captivating social media captions, designing graphics, and managing social media accounts—I embraced the diversity of tasks that came my way. The steep learning curve was challenging, but the excitement of exploring new skills kept me motivated.
Balancing Work and Studies:
One of the highlights of my apprenticeship was the ability to continue my studies while working. This dual approach allowed me to be hands-on with my learning, immediately applying new concepts to my daily tasks. The collaboration between theory and practice proved hugely beneficial, reinforcing my understanding, and making the learning process more engaging.
The Journey of Growth:
Over the course of 18 months, I embarked on a journey that included producing seven unique projects, conquering three theory exams, maintaining weekly diaries, and facing the end point assessment—all while juggling the demands of a full-time job. It was challenging, but the growth and knowledge gained along the way were immeasurable and I have now been promoted to Social Media and Marketing Executive!!
Words of Encouragement:
To anyone considering an apprenticeship or contemplating a career in digital marketing, I’m here to share my experience and offer guidance. Feel free to shoot me a message, and I’d be more than happy to walk you through my journey in more detail. The apprenticeship not only opened doors to a dynamic industry but also equipped me with the skills and confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing. Cheers to embracing the unknown and turning challenges into triumphs!
